Volkswagen Touareg Tuning Kit From JE Design

JE Design has released a set of sketches previewing its tuning kit for the new 2011 Volkswagen Touareg.

The German tuner will offer a wide body kit that will offer an aggressive look to the VW SUV. The front bumper will receive an add-on, which will come with a protection element and additional air intakes.

The package will also include special wheel arch extensions. At the rear of the Touareg, the tuning house will fit a new apron, which will feature a protection element, a roof edge spoiler and a tailgate attachment for the lower tailgate. The rear apron can house the factory stock exhaust pipes or can come with the tuner’s custom four pipe exhaust tips.

Skoda Fabia RS and Octavia RS tuning concepts

Skoda will be sending an Octavia RS+ and a Fabia RS+ - specially tuned concept variants of those models - to the GTI Wörthersee tuning event this week.

The two models don’t come with any engine tuning work for additional power - but the new sport designs are from Skoda Auto designers themselves.

With the use of self-adhesive foils for optics, as well as the addition of aerodynamic tuning parts, the effect is a very distinct-looking GTI-like set of Skoda models.

The Fabia RS+ gets a new radiator grill and headlamps while air intakes adorn the bonnet. At the back are a spoiler and diffuser in black. Touches of green are added (see the wheel in the photos) to mark the brand’s color and reference its rally-racing history.

TR 1000 Reaches 391 km/h

Porsche specialized tuning company 9ff has taken its TR 1000 tuned 911 Turbo to the ATP automotive testing circuit in Papenburg, Germany and tested the car’s top speed, obtaining an impressive figure of 391.7 km/h (243.4 mph), as Option Auto reports.

The force responsible for this performance comes from the TR-1000’s 4 liter flat-six engine with two improved turbochargers, a modified intercooler, sport camshafts, titanium rods, revised cylinder head and driveshaft, a sport air filter, a reprogrammed ECU and of course a high performance exhaust system. As the car’s name implies, the engine now develops 1000 HP at 7800 rpm and 1040 Nm of torque.

At this level of speed power would mean absolutely nothing without aerodynamics, so 9ff covered this area in a very special way. A modest body kit including a front splitter, new side skirts, a rear diffuser and a rear wing. We say special because it is totally unusual for a tuned vehicle of this level to have such a discreet appearance, and we can only be pleased with that.

Tommy Kaira Tuned Toyota Prius

The Japanese have another proof that tuning is sometimes incredibly stupid: the eco-tuned 2010 Toyota Prius. The project was developed by the Tommy Kaira tuning house and seems to be just in time for the Tokyo Auto Salon 2010.

The exterior of the modified Prius features an aggressive body kit. The new exterior parts are made from carbon fiber and are available in the same color as the car or in a matte black finish.

The Tommy Kaira Prius bodykit includes:

  • a front spoiler
  • grille trim
  • decorative trim for the bumper
  • side skirts
  • a roof spoiler
  • a rear apron with integrated diffuser that houses four tail pipes
