
Fiat is planning to move forward on the downsizing route, as the company wants to spread the use of the new two-cylinder 900 cc turbocharged TwinAir engine.
The Italian company will offer the powerplant in three levels of power and will also install it in a wider list of models (the unit is currently only available for the 500 model).
The model will make its debut with the 84 hp version which will be introduced on the 500 in September. The unit offers similar performance with the four cylinder 1.4-liter naturally aspirated engine already available on the 500, but comes with a 30 percent fuel consumption and emissions reduction.
