Don’t Touch My Fiat Palio [VIDEO Inside]

very-funny-fiat.jpg

For today’s Funny Car Commercial of the Day, we take a trip into another land where automobile drivers often find it necessary to share the road with their fellow human-powered, two-wheeled travelers. We wouldn’t know, having lived right here in the U.S. of A. our whole lives, but apparently bicyclists in South Africa happen to have a few irritating habits… like using the hood of your car as a means to balance themselves while waiting for the light to change.

If the commercial pasted after the break is any indication, perhaps the aforementioned practice isn’t such a good idea. Consider yourself warned: unclip from your pedals and put your feet on the ground - it’s safer that way. Stay tuned for another funny car commercial on this space in short order.

Fiat design of the FCC III concept

fcc.jpg

From Bertone to Pininfarina, some legendary designers have worked with Fiat over the years. Now the Italian automaker is offering car lovers a chance to join the pantheon. While your name won’t appear in chrome letters on the fender, your suggestions will guide the hands of Fiat’s designers.

Fiat Brazil’s Style Center is crowdsourcing the design of the FCC III concept, the third concept from the company’s designers in that country. Far from a run-of-the-mill design contest, Fiat says that Mio is the first car designed under a Creative Commons license.

According to the company, the design process will culminate in the unveiling of the FCC III at the 2010 Sao Paolo International Auto Show. Unlike the previous two concepts, the first of which is shown above, the FCC III will feature a design, safety features, material selection, infotainment system and drivetrain based on suggestions from the online community gathered at the Fiat Mio website.
